2026 FIFA World Cup Tickets: Presale, Key Dates, and Purchase Information

Football & Cricket

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, set to commence on June 11, 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico, details regarding ticket acquisition for fans have been unveiled. Hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, this tournament marks the first time 48 teams will participate, an increase from the previous 32. This expanded format introduces an additional knockout round of 32 teams after the group stage, preceding the traditional Round of 16.

While not all qualifying teams have been confirmed, more nations are securing their spots in each international window leading up to the World Cup draw on December 5 in Washington D.C., following the inter-confederation playoffs. Prior to this, a lottery-based ticketing program will commence on September 10, offering fans an opportunity to obtain tickets for this highly anticipated event.

How the Ticketing System Works

To register interest, fans must visit FIFA`s official website and create a FIFA ID, a prerequisite for ticket purchases. The presale draw entry period begins on September 10 at 11 a.m. ET and concludes on Friday, September 19. This exclusive presale is available solely to Visa cardholders.

Following the entry period, a draw will occur, and selected participants will receive email notifications. These fortunate fans will then be provided with a specific date and time slot, starting October 1, to purchase tickets, subject to availability. This phase will offer single match tickets, along with venue-specific and team-specific packages.

Ticket prices for group stage matches start at $60, escalating to $6,730 for premium seating at the World Cup final.

  • Phase 2: An early ticket draw is scheduled with a registration window from October 27-31. Successful applicants will receive email notifications with purchasing opportunities.
  • Phase 3: A random selection draw, also requiring registration, will follow the group stage draw on December 5. This phase allows fans to purchase tickets once team matchups and locations are known.

Closer to the tournament, additional ticket purchasing opportunities will be available for those who missed the presale or wish to buy more. FIFA will also launch an official resale platform to deter unauthorized resales, complemented by a dedicated ticket exchange platform for residents in Mexico.

Three distinct hospitality packages are currently available for purchase:

  • Single Match Offerings: Priced from $1,350 per person, this package includes one chosen group stage match (excluding host nation games) and one Round of 32 match, along with access to FIFA hospitality services on match days.
  • Venue Series: Starting at $8,275, this option grants access to all 4-9 matches at a selected venue, covering all stages and match days, complete with matchday hospitality.
  • Follow My Team: From $6,750, this package enables fans to attend all group stage matches and one Round of 32 match for their chosen team (not available for host nations), including matchday hospitality.
