Match No. 3 of ICC Men’s CWC 2023 is being played at Dharamsala between Afganistan and Bangladesh. Bangladeshi skipper offers Hashmatullah’s Men to bat first and set a total so that they could chase down. Its the 3rd time in three matches that all winning captains has chosen to field first.

Afghanistani Openers: Rehmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran open the innings for AFG and provide a 47-run opening stand in just 8.2. Ibrahim Zadran becomes the victim who lost his wicket after scoring only 22. AFG are 50/1 at the end of the first power play.
For the second wicket, Rehmat Shah joins well set Gurbaz and takes the team total to 83 but miscues the Shakib’s flighted delivery right after the 1st drink’s break. Both added 36 run in the team’s total but couldn’t extend this lead.
The skipper Hashmatullah comes to the crease in order to support Gurbaz in the run quest. But he also departs on 112 in the 25th. It was then that No AFG batter could survive against the spin and fast bowling attack.

Their arrival and departure has become a ritual after Gurbaz is sent back to the dugout by Mustafiz. From 112/2 in the 25th to 156/10 in the 38th, AFG only manage 44 for 8 which is a huge setback. Their collapse is obvious as BAN bowlers bowl brilliantly in the middle stages of the innings.
Afghanistan only score fifteen 4s and two 6s in their entire innings. Five batters cross double figures but besides Gurbaz no other batter look challenging. They have been down and out after Hashmatullah’s downfall.
From Bangladesh, it’s Shakib and Miraz picking up 3 wickets each for 30 and 25 respectively. Shoriful get 2 whereas Mustafiz and Takisn get one wicket each. Bangladesh bowl-out Afghanistan on 156 in just 37.2. Therefore, they need 157 in 50 overs to win this game in the ICC Men’s Cricket WC23.
