AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni has confidently stated that both the Rossoneri and Inter Milan are poised to construct “the best stadium in Europe.” He envisions a state-of-the-art facility that will be a source of immense pride for all Milanese citizens.
The new stadium project, anticipated to be completed by 2031, is moving forward after Milan and Inter reached an agreement to acquire the San Siro area. This crucial deal, which includes the site of the iconic Stadio Meazza, received approval from the Milan City Council earlier this week.
Milan`s Vision for a Premier Venue
In an interview with Sky Sport, President Scaroni reiterated the clubs` ambitious objective: “We have a target, and we are determined to achieve it: building the best stadium in Europe here in Milan, because the city truly deserves such a landmark.” He underscored the significant commitment and extensive work involved, along with substantial financial investment, to realize this vision. Scaroni emphasized that the new venue is designed to be inclusive, serving as a shared pride for everyone in Milan.

The projected completion date of 2031 is strategic, ensuring that Milan can serve as one of the host cities for the 2032 Euros.
Financials and Future of San Siro
Italian media reports indicate that Inter and Milan have jointly invested approximately €197 million for the acquisition of the San Siro area. The total cost of the ambitious stadium project is estimated to exceed €1 billion, a sum that will be shared between the two prominent Milanese clubs.

While definitive plans are still in development, it is anticipated that the new stadium project will entail either the partial or complete demolition of the existing Stadio Meazza. Further updates regarding the design and details of the new facility are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
