AC Milan appears to be a considerable distance away from reaching an agreement with Strasbourg for right-back Guéla Doué. Recent reports indicate that Milan`s latest offer of €18 million has been deemed insufficient, falling significantly short of Strasbourg`s valuation.
Information suggests that the Ligue 1 club is holding out for a fee closer to €28 million for the defender. This valuation is notably higher than initial estimates from Italian sources, which had suggested a starting point of around €20 million.
The discrepancy creates a substantial gap of €10 million that Milan needs to bridge. Following an initial bid of €15 million which was rejected, Milan increased their offer to €18 million over the weekend, only for it to be promptly turned down again.
The slow progression of these negotiations and the significant difference in financial expectations are likely contributing to frustration from Strasbourg`s side.
Guéla Doué is a 22-year-old player who has represented Ivory Coast internationally. He is also recognized as the elder brother of Desiré Doué, a promising talent at Paris Saint-Germain.
