AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni announced that the club is drawing inspiration from Tottenham, Real Madrid, and Arsenal as it moves forward with plans for a new stadium. Owner Gerry Cardinale has expressed his intention to remain at the helm “for a long time.” Scaroni also revealed that both AC Milan and city rivals Inter aim to play their inaugural match in the new San Siro by 2030. The leadership of these Italian giants has a clear understanding of the financial advantages that the new arena will bring.
Milan Emulates Successful Examples

Scaroni cited Tottenham, Real Madrid, and Arsenal as key examples. These clubs have significantly invested in state-of-the-art stadiums in recent years, each more than doubling their revenues in the first year of operation compared to their old grounds. Currently, Milan and Inter generate only a fraction of these figures. To maintain sporting competitiveness, a modern facility is essential. A substantial increase in revenue is anticipated, not through higher ticket prices for fans, but by offering more corporate hospitality packages and premium seating, along with income from other related activities.
Cardinale`s Long-Term Commitment to Milan

President Scaroni emphatically stated that the new stadium construction is unrelated to any real estate speculation or plans to sell the clubs. He affirmed that the new arena will create additional value for both Milan and Inter, enhancing their competitiveness in Europe. RedBird and Gerry Cardinale are driven by a passion for sports, and the acquisition of Milan represents their most significant investment to date. Cardinale intends to remain the owner of Milan for the long haul, viewing the stadium as a crucial component of the project to strengthen Milan as a sports institution and a modern, robust, and ambitious company. Scaroni is confident that this endeavor will further deepen Cardinale`s passion for Milan and Italy.
Green Light for Construction
AC Milan and Inter recently received approval to acquire the San Siro area. Construction is projected to commence in 2027, with the majority of the current Stadio Giuseppe Meazza slated for demolition.
