Multiple reports indicate that AC Milan has successfully finalized an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Nigerian international forward Victor Boniface. He is set to join the Rossoneri on an initial loan arrangement, which includes an option for a permanent transfer at a later stage.
Agreement Details Unveiled
According to esteemed football journalists such as Fabrizio Romano, Matteo Moretto, and Florian Plettenberg, Milan`s deal for Boniface will begin with a season-long loan. Furthermore, a four-year contract for the 24-year-old striker has already been agreed upon, slated to commence at the start of the upcoming season.
The financial terms of the loan involve an upfront payment of approximately €5 million to Bayer Leverkusen. Milan will then possess a non-mandatory buy option for an additional €24 million. This potential transfer structure would bring the total cost of the operation to just under €30 million.

Bolstering Milan`s Attack
The Rossoneri have been actively seeking to strengthen their front line in recent weeks. This urgency intensified as Santiago Gimenez was the only senior striker available in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad. The need for a new forward became even more critical following a minor injury to star player Rafael Leao, who had been deployed as a central striker during Milan’s first competitive fixture of the 2025-26 season.

Prior to reaching this agreement, Milan had explored other transfer targets, including Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund and Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic. However, despite weeks of negotiations, the club was unable to finalize deals with either player or their respective teams.
Once Boniface’s transfer is officially completed, he will mark AC Milan’s eighth new acquisition of the current summer transfer window. He joins a notable list of recent arrivals that includes Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci, Koni De Winter, Pervis Estupinan, Zachary Athekame, and Pietro Terracciano, signaling a significant squad overhaul for the club.
