Contrary to recent Italian media reports, Ademola Lookman`s potential move to Napoli is not a current issue. It has been clarified that Napoli`s inquiry into the player concluded several weeks ago, leaving the Nigerian international free to pursue a transfer to Inter Milan.
Clarifying Lookman`s Situation with Napoli and Inter
Over the past weekend, some outlets suggested Napoli had joined Inter in the pursuit of Lookman from Atalanta this summer, with the 27-year-old reportedly favoring Inter.
However, to clarify the situation, Napoli did explore a potential transfer for Lookman with Atalanta back in June. At that time, Atalanta indicated they were unwilling to proceed, which effectively ended the discussions. Since then, no further talks have taken place.
Antonio Conte is known to admire Lookman, who operates more as a second striker from the left flank rather than a traditional winger. Napoli, meanwhile, is currently prioritizing the acquisition of a specialist winger for their squad.
This development effectively puts Inter in a commanding position for the transfer.
Lookman himself has not entertained other offers, despite recent speculation linking him with both Napoli and Atletico Madrid.
