Young talent Eliesse Ben Seghir, 20, has officially completed his €35 million transfer to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. Prior to the finalization of the deal, his former manager at AS Monaco, Adi Hutter, offered a significant word of caution to the attacking midfielder.
Ben Seghir experienced a challenging final season at Monaco, struggling to maintain consistent form. Media reports also suggested a strained relationship between the Moroccan international and Hutter. His desire to leave the principality club this summer was well-known, and the transfer materialized just a day before the window closed.
Despite wishing Ben Seghir success in Germany, Hutter shared a stern message for the departing player during a press conference. He recalled, “He sometimes told me that I was hard on him. But in the end, it is better to learn these things here, because it won’t be easier in Germany. I have prepared him a little bit. We have a great relationship. He is a great player, and a fantastic boy.”
