AFG Choose to Bowl

Afghanistan after stunning the defenders of the ICC WC19 in their last match will take on the unbeaten NZ. Kiwis stand at the 2nd in the ICC CWC Points Table while Afganistan are at the 6th in the contest. Though NZ are favourite to win the 16th match of ICC Men’s ODI CWC23 against AFG but they have outplayed ENG in the last game. NZ won’t be taking AFG for granted so it would going to be a cracker at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. 

ICC CWC23 Compaign of AFG & NZ

AFG have won only one game out of three in the ICC CWC23. They have been stood victorious against ENG in their last game while lost to IND and BAN in their opening games of the ICC WC23. NZ and IND are the only tow contestants thathave been still unbeaten in the tournament. The Black Caps have defeated ENG, BAN and NED by a mile in this ICC CWC23. That’s why they are at the 2nd of the ICC CWC23 Points Table just below India.

AFG and NZ have met twice in the ICC CWC with NZ winning both 2 matches one sidedly. But Afghans shouldn’t be taken for granted as they have a record of upsetting the major teams like they have done in the previous game. Toss

AFG keep the same winning combination and make no change in their playing XI. LIkewise, NZ would have gone with the same XI but Kane Williamson is unfit for the play dut to his left thumb injury in the last game. Therefore, NZ bring back Will Young in their playing 11.

The Kiwi openers: Will Young and the 2nd highest scorer of the ICC CWC23 DJ Conwey, are opening the innings for NZ and have got a very good chance to surpass India in the ICC CWC 2023 point’s Table. Whereas, Mujeeb ur Rehman and Fazal Haq Farooqi get the ball in hand for the first power play to restrict the man in Black under the par score as wishes the AFG captain at the toss of the 16th match of ICC MEN’s ODI CWC 2023.

The Afghan bowlers give tough times to the NZ batters as they don’t rotate strike freely in the first ten. NZ score 43 for the lose of Conwey at the eng of the first power play. They hit five 4s and one 6 and score at 4.30.
