Afghanistan Can Qualify for the Semi-Finals to Make History in the ICC World Cup 2023

Today, on 30th October, Afghanistan will take on Sri Lanka for an all-important match that can keep alive their hopes for the Semi-Finals of the ICC World Cup 2023. Sri Lanka is at 5 and Afghanistan is at 7 on the points tally. If Afghanistan beats Sri Lanka they will be in the race to qualify for the final four of the mega event. 

Afghanistan have played 5 matches in which they have won 2 and lost 3 matches. The win gives them a real chance to stay alive in the tournament. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are the other two teams that can qualify if they win their remaining matches. So, it is a perfect scenario for all these teams to be a part of the final four.

If Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka today they will move to the 5th place with 6 points on the points table. In the next encounters, Afghanistan will take on the Netherlands, Australia, and South Africa. In the remaining 3 games, Afghanistan has to win two matches to qualify.

The Netherlands is an easy opponent to beat but Australia and South Africa will cause problems for Afghanistan. If they could manage to beat Australia or South Africa, they would finish with 5 wins and 12 points on the board.
