Ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan, Babar Azam responds to a statement made a year ago about him

Ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan, Babar Azam responds to a statement made a year ago about him. Just a month until India vs. Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match, and while all eyes will be on Saturday’s high-profile match, the mini-battle featuring two of the world’s best batters has been reduced to a mere afterthought.

The contemporary version of Sachin Tendulkar vs. Saeed Anwar is Babar Azam vs. Virat Kohli. The eagerly anticipated individual contest has finally begun, and all anyone can think about is making comparisons between Kohli and Babar. Babar isn’t too far behind Kohli in terms of the game’s legend status. He has already broken numerous batting records that Virat Kohli once held and is quickly moving up the ladder.

One doesn’t have to look too far back to learn more about the degree of admiration between Kohli and Babar. Images of Kohli’s warm embrace with Babar and Mohammad Rizwan following Pakistan’s resounding victory over India at the T20 World Cup 2021 went viral, and just last year, the conversation between Babar and Kohli on social media platform X (previously Twitter) broke the internet.

Following Babar’s wish for Kohli to regain his form, Virat praised the Pakistani batter the highest, referring to him as a “top batter across formats.” Babar has at long last reciprocated Kohli’s compliment after remaining silent for nearly a year.

“When someone says something nice about you, it feels great. The compliments I received from Virat Kohli made me feel good, and I was very proud of myself at the time. You gain confidence from some things and compliments,” Babar said to Star Sports.

“I visited him while the 2019 World Cup was underway. Both then and now, he is at the height of his powers. I desired to gain something from him. I discovered a lot. I asked him some questions that I needed answers to, and he patiently and clearly answered them all,” the Pakistan captain continued.
