Massimiliano Allegri expressed his delight upon returning to AC Milan, highlighting the crucial need for a “unity of purpose” to establish a clear direction for everyone at the club.
Speaking at an event in Milan, coach Allegri provided an update on the team`s preparation.
“For now, we are working well, but everything looks promising only until the matches begin. That`s when it truly matters,” the Italian coach stated.
“We have started the season preparations and are doing so in the best possible way. We acknowledge the challenges we will face, but more importantly, we understand the significance of this season. I am very happy,” he added.
AC Milan was among the first Serie A teams to commence pre-season on July 7. Allegri was appointed as the new Rossoneri manager on the same day, signing a two-year contract at San Siro.
Allegri Reflects on His Milan Comeback

Allegri shared details about his return process: “When Tare initially contacted me and subsequently when I met with Furlani, the foundation for collaborative work was already being set,” he explained.
“I am extremely pleased about this. Coming back to Milan is fantastic for me, and I feel immense enthusiasm. There is a considerable amount of work ahead. Currently, there is strong alignment in our goals and a shared approach to our daily tasks. This is vital for providing clear guidance to everyone involved with AC Milan. We are part of one of the world`s top clubs, and we must show deep respect for that heritage.”
“We can only earn respect through professionalism and by achieving results,” Allegri emphasized.
Allegri`s History with Milan and Juventus

During his previous tenure at AC Milan, Allegri secured the Serie A title in his inaugural season. He was dismissed in January 2014.
Shortly after leaving Milan, he began a highly successful period at Juventus, where he famously won the Scudetto for five consecutive seasons. He also led Juventus to victory in the Coppa Italia in the 2023-24 season before his departure from the Turin club.
The Rossoneri officially kick off their 2024-25 competitive campaign with a Coppa Italia match against Bari scheduled for August 17.
