AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri expressed his disappointment following the team`s 0-0 draw against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, lamenting the numerous missed opportunities that cost his side three valuable points.
This match marked Allegri`s first return to the Allianz Stadium since his departure from Juventus in 2024. Milan created many scoring chances but demonstrated poor finishing throughout the game. A key moment of frustration was American forward Christian Pulisic`s penalty kick in the second half, which sailed over the bar, epitomizing the Rossoneri`s struggles in front of goal. Despite this outcome, Milan has remained unbeaten since their opening game loss to Cremonese and aims to build on solid defensive performances in their pursuit of the Serie A title.

Allegri`s Post-Match Comments
In an interview with DAZN, Allegri admitted he didn`t even see Pulisic`s penalty, acknowledging that “penalties are sometimes missed.” He characterized the first half as balanced, noting that Juventus effectively closed down spaces while Milan moved the ball too slowly. The team improved physically in the second half, creating chances, but the coach felt that “when we had Juventus in our hands, we lacked ruthlessness.” While positive about not conceding a goal, he stressed the importance of being decisive: “at certain moments, you have to kill the game.”
On Rafael Leao`s Performance
Addressing Rafael Leao`s missed opportunities, Allegri explained that the player “has been out for 45 days, so he is still finding his rhythm.” He highlighted that both Leao and Nkunku are technical players capable of deciding matches. Allegri emphasized that Leao, who previously played as a striker for Lille, must convert such chances. “He possesses genius, but now he must learn to determine the outcome of matches – that`s what makes him a decisive player,” the coach added.

Emotional Return to Turin
Allegri also shared his feelings about returning to Turin, calling it “emotional.” He expressed gratitude to the people he worked with for eight years but underlined his current commitment to Milan and the significant work ahead. “We take this point, but when it`s time to bite, we must bite,” he concluded, referring to the team`s need for greater determination.
On Christian Pulisic`s Contribution
Regarding Christian Pulisic`s overall performance, Allegri noted that he “played well, moved effectively in the penalty incident.” The coach added that Pulisic “works hard for the team” and, despite the missed penalty, “played an extraordinary match.”
