AC Milan will reportedly miss out on signing KAA Gent defender Archie Brown, as he is on his way to Istanbul to finalise his move to Fenerbahce.
Brown, a 23-year-old left-back, became a potential target for Milan relatively late in the transfer window after Theo Hernandez departed for Al-Hilal.
Reports, including one from Sportitalia, confirmed today that both Milan and Fenerbahce were informed of Gent`s price tag: €8 million plus add-ons. However, the final choice rested with the player, Brown.
Earlier warnings suggested Milan needed to act quickly and present a compelling offer to the player, something Nieuwsblad in Belgium reports they failed to do.
While MilanNews.it mentioned that Fenerbahce`s personal terms for Brown were more attractive than Milan`s, Nieuwsblad goes further, claiming Milan never actually submitted a concrete bid.
Sources confirm that Brown is now travelling to Istanbul to finalise his transfer to Fenerbahce, meaning Milan must now look for another player to fill the left-back position.
