AS Monaco is reportedly in advanced discussions with Bayer Leverkusen regarding the transfer of their experienced 35-year-old Finnish goalkeeper, Lukas Hradecky. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 club has already reached a personal agreement with Hradecky. Monaco`s pursuit of a new goalkeeper stems from the inconsistent performances of their current options, Philipp Köhn and Radoslaw Majecki, both of whom have been prone to errors.
Hradecky played a vital role in Bayer Leverkusen`s extraordinary 2023-2024 campaign, where Xabi Alonso`s squad achieved an unprecedented unbeaten domestic double. Despite his significant contribution, Hradecky`s playing time at Leverkusen is expected to be limited following the summer arrival of Mark Flekken from Brentford FC. Negotiations are currently underway between Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen to determine a suitable transfer fee, especially as Hradecky has now entered the final year of his contract.
