As Pakistan ends a disastrous campaign, Misbah-ul-Haq confesses that Babar and Arthur disregarded his advise

As Pakistan ends a disastrous campaign, Misbah-ul-Haq confesses that Babar and Arthur disregarded his advise. Prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, former captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and the selectors disregarded his suggestions, particularly with regard to the bowling attack.

The Green Shirts were eliminated in the group stage of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. The team has four victories and five defeats in the series. At Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, the team lost to England by 93 runs to conclude their campaign.

Misbah-ul-Haq recollected his words of wisdom for the people in charge of selecting the team for the A-Sports program “The Pavilion.” The previous captain of Pakistan’s all-format team asserted that he had recommended modifications to the spin department.

Misbah-ul-Haq remembered telling them that the main issue was spin bowling and that this was the way it needed to be done. He went on to say that considering Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz had been performing poorly for some time, an extra spinner ought to have been retained.

Furthermore, the former batsman claimed that fast bowling was out of style at the time and that adequate substitutes for injured pacers had to be taken into consideration.

It’s important to note that former captain Azhar Ali questioned why the management chose not to include a specialist spinner in the World Cup squad when Saud Shakeel and Abdullah Shafique were selected for the playing eleven during an interview on the private News program “Har Lamhaa Purjosh.”

Misbah highlighted the critical function of spinners in subcontinental conditions and disclosed that he has counseled the team management to implement strategies to improve this area. The former captain, though, was disappointed, pointing out that Arthur, the head coach, and captain of the squad, Babar Azam, did not value his observations.

“They just kept on saying that we are carrying the same set of players, (or the) same team for more than a year and they didn’t want to disturb it,” he stated.
