AS Roma has reportedly submitted an improved bid for RC Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui, 24, following the rejection of their initial €20 million offer. The Italian club is keenly pursuing the promising midfielder`s services.
El Aynaoui honed his skills at the AS Nancy Lorraine academy, where he featured in 61 matches. He made a permanent transfer to Lens in July 2023, at a time when AS Nancy Lorraine was competing in the French third tier.
Upon his arrival at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, El Aynaoui swiftly adapted to his new environment. His inaugural season saw him make 31 appearances, which included three starts in the UEFA Champions League. Building on this solid foundation, the 2024–25 season marked his most impressive performance yet for `Les Sang et Or,` as he netted eight goals from midfield in just 24 Ligue 1 matches.
On the international stage, El Aynaoui has represented Morocco at the U23 level, making his debut in September 2023. However, he is still awaiting his inaugural call-up to the senior national team.
