AUS vs PAK: Significant Setback for Pakistan Before The Melbourne Test

AUS vs PAK: Significant setback for Pakistan before the Melbourne Test.Fast bowler Khurram Shahzad’s injury has severely harmed Pakistan’s chances of winning the series, just days before the team takes on Australia in the second Test.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Khurram had complained of left side pain during the first Test match in Perth.

“Khurram was sent for an MRI scan following his complaint, following the Test match,” the PCB stated, adding that more information will be released later when the medical panel has evaluated the MRI data.

The renowned Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the second Test from December 26–30.  In the first Test, chasing a 450-run total, the Green Shirts were bowled for just 89 runs.

The host team’s explosive pace attack destroyed Pakistan’s unlikely chance to win their first Test match in Australia since 1995, and the match was over in four days.

Despite needing to score 450 to win, the visitors gave up easily, with Lyon scoring 2–18. Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc each took three wickets.

In response to the hosts’ 487, Australia declared on the fourth day at 233-5 after Pakistan was bowled for 271 in their opening innings.
