Azam Khan is struggling; Pakistan’s batting coach supports him.Following Pakistan’s two straight defeats against New Zealand, coaching staff member Adam Hollioake expressed his faith in 25-year-old Azam Khan’s skills. At the post-match conference following the second T20I, Hollioake lauded Khan as a destructive batter, despite the fact that Khan had returned with scores of 10 and 2 in the two matches.

Azam Khan is an extremely potent batsman. Unfortunately, he in tonight and left right immediately because he had to go. Something like that, where you look amazing if it works and ridiculous if it doesn’t,” Hollioake remarked. In spite of the recent disappointments, he highlighted Khan’s dynamic and powerful style and expressed hope for his upcoming shows.

Hollioake highlighted the depth of skill on the team while acknowledging the competitiveness within the group and making suggestions about possible changes in next games. “Azam [Khan] is a talented guy, but there are lots of talented guys in the squad, so you just have to see what the pitch is and what the makeup of the team is in the next game,” he stated.

In the second Twenty20 International, Pakistan had a difficult assignment as they chased 195 runs against New Zealand but lost by 21 runs. Faced with a potent bowling attack from the Kiwis, the side only had three batsman reach double figures. Looking ahead, Pakistan wants to get back together and make a statement on January 17 at University Oval in Dunedin in the third Twenty20 International. With a strong group at their disposal that includes players like skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi and standout batsman Babar Azam, the team is still committed to turning things around in the series’ remaining games.
