Bangladesh Beat Sri Lanka for the First Time in the ICC World Cup History

History for Bangladesh by beating Sri Lanka for the first time in the ICC World Cup by 3 wickets and the highest successful chase in the ODIs against the same team. A bit of drama was created at the end by losing too many wickets but they got over the line with 3 wickets in hand. It might help their NRR as they won the match in 42 over. Sri Lanka is now officially out of the ICC World Cup 2023. Bangladesh’s champions’ trophy 2025 in Pakistan hopes are still alive.

It was a great game of cricket but there are a few incidents that should be avoided playing at this level. We timed out of Mathews which started the whole drama that continued. It was not good for the spirit of the game and we hope that things will go normal soon.

Shanto and Shakib set the tempo for this massive by scoring their half-centuries. Shanto made 90 runs off 101 balls with the help of 12 fours. He played the anchor role. Shakib was the aggrasser of the two who scored 82 runs facing only 65 balls which helped the team chase down the target in the 42nd over of the inning.

The experienced Mathews bowled well and got two wickets in his 7.1 overs for 35 runs. He was the bowler who brought his team back into the game. The young sensation Dilshan Madushanka took three wickets in this match who proved to be one of the best bowlers of the tournament. He is the leading wicket-taker of the World Cup 2023 till now.

A big moment for Bangladesh after losing 6 games in a row but a disappointment for Sri Lanka which is now officially out of the World Cup 2023. Both teams have left one match to get some respite.
