Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has provided an update on the club’s intentions regarding Marcus Rashford’s future after his current loan spell concludes.
Currently, forward Marcus Rashford is enjoying a successful loan period in the Catalan capital. He joined Barcelona from Manchester United last summer, a move intended to bolster Hansi Flick’s offensive options. Rashford has certainly delivered on that front.
Stepping up amidst various injury challenges in Barca’s attack, the 28-year-old has accumulated an impressive 23 goal contributions in 38 matches so far. His consistent strong performances have fueled speculation that the club management at Camp Nou is eager to secure his services permanently.
Recent statements from the re-elected Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta, strongly suggest that these rumors hold true. When asked about Rashford’s future after his loan spell during an interview with RAC1 this week (as reported by Fabrizio Romano), Laporta confirmed:
“We will make an effort—in Barcelona’s best interest—to ensure Marcus Rashford remains with us beyond this season. Marcus is performing exceptionally well, contributing with both assists and goals, and we are very pleased,” Laporta stated.
