A promising talent within Barcelona’s midfield has reportedly decided to pursue new opportunities elsewhere this summer.
According to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, the player in question is Marc Casadó.
The young midfielder has faced a challenging season, struggling to secure a regular starting role in manager Hansi Flick’s plans. The 22-year-old has managed only nine league starts throughout the campaign.
Furthermore, with the return to fitness of key players like Gavi and Marc Bernal, Casadó’s opportunities have become even more limited.
It is understood that these circumstances have significantly influenced the player’s perspective.
A report from Diario Sport suggests that aware of manager Flick’s lack of confidence in him, Casadó has made a firm decision.
The report states: ‘All of this has influenced the Catalan midfielder’s decision to leave Barcelona at the end of this season. Only a radical change in his situation between now and the end of the season would alter a decision that has already been carefully considered.’
