FC Barcelona has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to acquire the services of Josué Caicedo from LDU Quito. The highly-rated 18-year-old winger, predominantly playing on the left flank, is considered one of South America’s most promising young talents and has long been a target for various European clubs.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal for Caicedo is structured as a loan agreement for Barcelona’s reserve team, with an option to purchase that could potentially become an obligation. The reported fee for this arrangement is approximately €2.5 million. Caicedo is expected to join his new teammates at Barca Atlètic in the coming weeks.
