Spanish football giants Barcelona have received a significant blow this week with the confirmation that star winger Raphinha faces an estimated five-week period on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old had recently returned to international action, featuring in Brazil’s 2-1 friendly defeat against France on Thursday evening, where he was named in the starting lineup. However, Raphinha did not re-emerge for the second half of the match, raising immediate concerns about his fitness.
Following the game, Brazil’s coach confirmed that the player had suffered a physical problem. The full extent of his injury was revealed approximately 24 hours later.
According to an official statement released by FC Barcelona on Friday, medical tests conducted by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) confirmed a right hamstring injury. This injury occurred after Raphinha experienced discomfort during the Brazil vs France match held in Boston. The statement further indicated that the player is now returning to Barcelona to commence his treatment and rehabilitation, with his estimated recovery time projected to be five weeks.
