Santner will not be attending Friday night’s first Twenty20 International against the tourists at Eden Park Stadium, the New Zealand Cricket said in a tweet. The cricket player will be observed for a few days, according to the NZ cricket board.

In the meantime, the playing XI for the five-match T20I series against the Kiwis has been declared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). 

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who succeeded Babar Azam as captain, will be skipper for the first time in today’s game.

Mohammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper-battler who was selected Shaheen’s vice-captain, led Pakistan in runs scored during the series. During that assignment, Haris Rauf, a right-arm pacer, was the most successful bowler.
