Before their match against India in the Cricket World Cup 2023, the Pakistani team trains in Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest stadium in the world. When the Pakistan cricket squad arrived in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for the match against India on October 14, they participated in their first practise session at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Shaheen Shah Afridi were observed working out in the nets. View the images from the teams’ practise session.

On Thursday, the Pakistani squad engaged in a lengthy practise under the lights. When the squad got to the pitch, they huddled in a corner where Mickey Arthur, the cricket director, could be seen strategizing.

The players cheered when the group broke up after around ten minutes. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. bowled stump-to-stump under the watchful eye of bowling coach Morne Morkel while Mohammad Rizwan swept and reverse swept a local left-arm wrist spinner for an hour while battling the hot circumstances.

The players from Pakistan seemed at ease throughout their three hours of training, despite the strict security precautions. Conversations with the players were vigorously pursued by Captain Babar Azam. India enters the game having defeated Afghanistan by an impressive eight wickets, while Pakistan just completed the biggest successful run chase in ODI World Cup history by chasing 345 runs against Sri Lanka. On Friday, India will train in the evening and Pakistan in the afternoon.
