Benjamin André Extends Lille Stay Amid Paris FC Pursuit

Football & Cricket

Lille`s captain, Benjamin André (34), is set to extend his contract with the club, despite significant interest from newly promoted Ligue 1 team Paris FC. Paris FC had reportedly made a €3 million offer, which Lille declined. André himself had even reached an agreement on personal terms for a three-year contract with Paris FC, and had expressed his desire to move to the capital club to Lille president Olivier Létang.

André also declined to join the Lille squad for a pre-season friendly match against Como. Reports indicate that Lille president Olivier Létang made considerable efforts to persuade André to remain with `Les Dogues,` especially given their upcoming participation in the Europa League. André is now expected to sign a two-year contract extension, committing him to Lille until 2028.
