Tension is mounting between Benjamin André and Lille OSC due to the 33-year-old midfielder`s persistent desire to join Paris FC. André has refused a contract extension and did not travel with the squad for their friendly match against Como on Friday.
Reportedly, Paris FC recently submitted a second bid of €3 million, but Lille has yet to respond. André is said to have agreed personal terms on a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 club and has clearly communicated his wish to move to the capital to club president Olivier Létang.
Meanwhile, Lille risks losing a key locker room figure under unfavourable circumstances. Last season, André captained the team and made 45 appearances across all competitions, including featuring in the UEFA Champions League. With just one year left on his contract, he could now face disciplinary action from the northern club following his decision to stay behind.
