Juventus continues to bear the financial burden of midfielder Arthur Melo, but a new prospect for his departure has surfaced from Turkish club Besiktas, following earlier interest from Spanish teams.

The midfielder joined Juventus from Barcelona in 2020 as part of a player exchange deal that involved Miralem Pjanic. However, Arthur never managed to truly establish himself or make a significant impact during his tenure with the Bianconeri.

After contributing a mere single goal and one assist across 63 competitive appearances, he was subsequently sent on a series of loan spells to prominent clubs including Liverpool, Fiorentina, and Girona. Despite these opportunities, none of the temporary clubs chose to make his transfer permanent.

Arthur`s substantial salary continues to be a considerable drain on Juventus`s resources, with his contract still running until June 2027. Consequently, the Italian club is highly motivated to offload the Brazilian midfielder permanently from their squad.

The most recent indication of a potential move, as reported by Sportitalia colleague Gianluigi Longari, points to Turkish powerhouse Besiktas.

At this stage, Besiktas has only made preliminary inquiries to gather information on his situation, a level of interest similar to that shown by several Spanish clubs. Therefore, the progression of this potential transfer remains to be seen.

Arthur is set to turn 29 next month. In the previous season, he featured in 15 La Liga matches while on loan at Girona.
