Billal Brahimi Joins Santos After Nice Contract Termination

Football & Cricket

Algerian winger Billal Brahimi, 25, has made a swift move to Brazil following the mutual termination of his contract with OGC Nice on the recent transfer deadline day. He is now in Brazil, poised to complete his transfer to Santos.

Brahimi originally joined Nice in 2022 but struggled to secure a regular first-team spot under various coaches. During his tenure, the attacker was sent out on loan twice, first to Stade Brestois and later to Saint-Trond, in an attempt to find consistent playing time.

This season, Brahimi only featured once for Nice, making a brief appearance during the final moments of their 1-0 defeat to Toulouse FC on the opening weekend of Ligue 1. His departure became imminent as Nice strengthened their attacking options in the final week of the transfer window, ultimately leading to the mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

The winger landed in Sao Paulo on Tuesday and is scheduled for a medical examination with Santos on Wednesday, marking the final step before the completion of his free transfer to the Brazilian club.
