Bologna Football Club has successfully finalized the transfer of versatile player Nadir Zortea from Cagliari. The reported cost of the deal is approximately €7.5 million. The 26-year-old Zortea is capable of operating on both the right and left flanks, fulfilling roles as a defender or a more advanced wing-back.
A product of the Atalanta youth academy, Zortea gained valuable experience through loan spells with Cremonese, Salernitana, Sassuolo, and Frosinone. Last summer, he was permanently transferred to Cagliari for €5.1 million.
Zortea`s Impact and Bologna Move

He truly thrived in Sardinia, contributing six goals and two assists in 35 Serie A appearances for Cagliari. His impressive performances were enough to secure a move to Bologna, where he successfully underwent a medical examination this morning and officially signed his contract.
Throughout the summer, Zortea had also been linked with interest from other significant clubs, including Valencia, Napoli, and Fiorentina. However, it was Bologna that acted decisively to clinch the deal and acquire the player.
The Rossoblu (Bologna`s nickname) have further strengthened their squad with other notable summer acquisitions, including Martin Vitik from Sparta Prague, Torbjorn Heggem from West Bromwich Albion, as well as free agents Ciro Immobile and Federico Bernardeschi.
