Brentford Initiates Talks for Rennes’ Arnaud Kalimuendo

Football & Cricket

Brentford has initiated discussions regarding the potential acquisition of 23-year-old Stade Rennais forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, as reported by renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The France U21 international is widely anticipated to depart Rennes during the current summer transfer window. Loïc Désiré, the club`s new sporting director, confirmed this expectation earlier in the window, stating: “In this sector (up front), we are anticipating Kalimuendo`s eventual departure.”

Despite significant interest in the former Paris Saint-Germain academy product, no club had yet made a definitive offer. This situation appears to be changing as the new season draws nearer, with a growing number of potential buyers emerging.

RMC Sport had reported Nottingham Forest`s interest in late July, and Tottenham Hotspur has also been frequently mentioned as a potential destination. However, according to Romano, two clubs have now officially contacted Rennes.

Villarreal, who recently saw Thierno Barry join Everton, and Brentford are the two clubs that have reportedly contacted the Breton side (Rennes) to explore the possibility of a transfer for Kalimuendo.
