Football club Brest, actively seeking a new goalkeeper, initially showed interest in Gabriel Slonina from Chelsea, but later shifted their focus to Maxime Dupé from Nice. This information comes from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
Brest is looking for a replacement for 34-year-old Marco Bizot, who left the club despite having a year left on his contract, as a gesture of appreciation for his contributions. Bizot has joined Aston Villa, where he is expected to serve as Emiliano Martinez`s backup.
Following Bizot`s departure, Brest considered various options, including 21-year-old Slonina, who spent part of the last season on loan at Barnsley before returning to Chelsea.
However, it appears Brest has since turned its attention to the more experienced 32-year-old Maxime Dupé, who was Marcin Bulka`s understudy at Nice. Nice has already found a replacement for Dupé, signing Yehvann Diouf from Reims. Reports indicate that negotiations between Nice and Brest regarding Dupé`s transfer are progressing actively.
