Juventus defender Juan Cabal is anticipated to be out of action for at least six weeks after suffering a “moderate-grade injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh.” The club officially confirmed the extent of the injury on Thursday, following comprehensive diagnostic tests.

The Colombian international`s unfortunate departure from the field occurred merely 15 minutes into Wednesday’s Champions League match against Villarreal, underscoring the severity of this latest physical setback.

In a statement, the Bianconeri provided details regarding Cabal`s condition: “Juventus Men’s First Team player Juan Cabal, who came off during the first half of Wednesday night’s Champions League match against Villarreal, underwent diagnostic tests this morning at J|Medical. Those tests revealed a moderate-grade injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh. He will undergo further tests in two weeks to more precisely determine the recovery timeline.”

This new injury is particularly disheartening for Cabal, who had only recently returned to active play after a prolonged absence of a year, recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

According to reports from Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta, the estimated recovery period for this type of injury is approximately six weeks. This projection means Juventus is hopeful that the former Verona defender could make his return to competitive action for their away fixture against Fiorentina, anticipated towards the end of November.

Cabal, who is 24 years old, made his move to Juventus from Verona in the summer of 2024, in a deal valued at €12.8 million. He recently celebrated a significant milestone, scoring his inaugural goal for the Bianconeri last week, which contributed to a 1-1 home draw against Atalanta. His current contract with the club at the Allianz Stadium is set to conclude in June 2029.
