Captain Babar Azam receives counsel from Gautam Gambhir

Captain Babar Azam receives counsel from Gautam Gambhir. Gautam Gambhir highlighted the disparity between Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma’s recent performances to highlight the differences in their game-day strategies.

Gautam Gambhir, a former cricket player from India, stressed that Babar Azam’s style of leadership needs to change in his role as team captain.

Speaking on a regional sports forum, Gambhir shared his opinions about the 29-year-old’s leadership potential in future games as well as his playing style and mentality.

“I think Babar needs to adjust his demeanor, style of play, and most significantly, perspective. Attackers such as Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir, Saeed Anwar, and Aamer Sohail have a history of doing so in Pakistan. All three of the current top three bat in a similar manner. Their captain, who bats at number three, must assume accountability if anyone needs to,” he declared.

The former first baseman emphasized how the squad’s style of play frequently reflects the captain’s methods and emphasized how important Babar’s role is in effectively leading the team.

The 42-year-old highlighted the disparity between Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma’s recent performances and drew a parallel between them.

“The group performs as the captain performs. Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma both achieved fifty points. 80 was scored by one, and 50 by the other. They all received a score of zero, but the approach made all the difference. Pakistan would have played to win the match whether they reached 190 in 35 or 40 overs if they had been chasing the target.

It is imperative that the captain assume accountability. The team will play defense if the captain does. “You can’t tell the other ten players in the room that I’ll play  from one end if you play positively,” he said in closing.
