Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of 28-year-old Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler to the Basque club, according to reports from L’Equipe. Soler recently returned to PSG following the conclusion of his loan spell at English Premier League side West Ham United, with the Hammers ultimately deciding against exercising their option to make the move permanent. Earlier, Italian club Napoli had also reportedly shown interest in the midfielder.
Soler appears to be the latest player from a group of PSG footballers seeking new opportunities this summer, following in the footsteps of Milan Skriniar, Nordi Mukiele, Renato Sanches, and Arnau Tenas. The Spaniard originally joined the Ligue 1 champions from his formative club Valencia in an €18 million deal, signing a five-year contract that is set to expire in 2027. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between PSG and Real Sociedad is structured as a loan deal that includes an option for the Spanish Liga side to make the transfer permanent. Real Sociedad reportedly anticipates that this option will be triggered, securing Soler`s long-term future at the club.
