Newly promoted Cremonese have completed several transfer deals today. They have brought Franco Vazquez back to the club and signed Romano Floriani Mussolini from Lazio.
Cremonese were the final team to secure their Serie A status this summer, gaining promotion through the play-offs alongside Sassuolo and Pisa.
This meant their transfer strategy began later than some clubs, but it is now accelerating, especially following the appointment of coach Davide Nicola.
Two deals were finalized today, with one being the return of a familiar face to the squad.
Vazquez had been with Cremonese since joining as a free agent from Parma in 2023. His previous contract expired on June 30th.
However, the Argentina international successfully negotiated a new contract and signed it today, committing his future to the club until June 2026.
Known as ‘El Mudo’, Vazquez has been a significant player for the team, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists across 74 appearances over the last two seasons. He was the top scorer for Cremonese in Serie B last term with nine goals.
It is also now official that Cremonese have secured midfielder Floriani Mussolini on a loan deal from Lazio.
The agreement includes an option for Cremonese to make the transfer permanent at the end of the current campaign.
