England who were done and dusted by NZ in their ICC CWC 2023 opener have taken on BAN in Dharamsala. David Malan and jonny Bairstow are invited to bat first against BAN in the 7th match of ICC Men’s ODI CWC 2023. Malan and Bairstow provide 115- runs stand for the first wicket for ENG and then Joe Root and Malan extended the lead for their team. Both batters provide 151 runs stand for the second wicket in against Bangladesh who decided to bowl first after winning the toss. England are 115 for 1 in the 18th over when Root joins the crease with Malan after Bairstow’s dismissal. Both play brilliantly in their 151-runs stand off just 113 deliveries and smash 13 4s and four 6s striking at 133.63. David Malan brings up his ton in just 91 balls. He also becomes the oldest English batter to score hundred in ICC Men’s ODI WC. Meanwhile Joe Roots snatches the most runs record for England in CWC from Greame Gouch who held this record with 897 runs. The massive 151-runs stand is broken by Mahedi Hasan in the 38th over when ENG are 266 for 2. Malan contributes 79 off 59 while Root adds 69 off 58.
