Daren Sammy discusses his coaching job in Pakistan. Pakistan Super League head coach and former West Indies captain Darren Sammy has responded to speculation surrounding his possible appointment as Pakistan men’s team head coach, saying he is not distracted by other coaching choices and his thoughts are mainly on the Peshawar Zalmi.

“For now my focus is on Peshawar Zalmi and the coaches. I am not thinking about anything else including the coaching role of the Pakistan team. My main thing is to focus on winning the title for Zalmi,” Sammy said in the following press interaction Sunday training session in Karachi was available.

Sammy credited Peshawar Zalmi’s achievement to the player’s extraordinary efforts as they were the only ones to make it to the PSL playoffs.

“The fact that we have qualified for the playoffs in every PSL season speaks volumes about the dedication and performance of the players.” Players like Hasan Ali, Asghar Ali and Wahab Riaz have been a huge contributor,” commented Sammy

He also highlighted the leadership qualities of current captain Babar Azam and expressed optimism over the promising talents in the team including Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Haris, and Saim Ayub.
