Al Hilal, managed by Simone Inzaghi, is reportedly prepared to meet Liverpool`s asking price for Darwin Nunez. However, the Uruguayan international forward is currently prioritizing an offer from a European club, following a recent inquiry from Juventus.
Al Hilal`s search for a primary striker continues this summer, especially after their substantial €30 million per year contract offer to Victor Osimhen was declined in June.
Interest from Serie A Clubs
The Saudi club has expressed significant interest in Nunez, initiating discussions regarding the Uruguay international`s transfer on June 6. Prior to this, two Serie A clubs had engaged in talks concerning Nunez`s potential move.
Napoli had engaged in negotiations with Liverpool for several weeks earlier this summer but ultimately opted to sign Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese. Juventus, after their initial inquiry about Nunez, is now reportedly in discussions with PSG regarding a move for Randal Kolo Muani.
Nunez`s European Preference
Despite the financially compelling offer from Saudi Arabia, the Liverpool striker is currently holding out for opportunities from a European club. While Al Hilal would face no financial hurdles in meeting the Reds` asking price, Nunez`s focus remains firmly on continuing his career within Europe.
It is understood that Nunez plans to wait for a few more days to assess if any other appealing offers from European teams materialize.
