Paris Saint-Germain`s Désiré Doué, 20, was among two PSG players who sustained injuries during France`s 2-0 victory over Ukraine last Friday. While teammate Ousmane Dembélé faces an estimated six-week absence due to a hamstring injury, Doué`s return is anticipated much sooner.
The ex-Stade Rennais forward incurred a calf injury during international duty, leading to his substitution at halftime in the 2-0 win. Initially, his recovery period was projected to be about a month. However, recent reports suggest he might be back on the pitch before the end of this month.
There is speculation that Doué could be fit enough for a substitute appearance in the Ligue 1 fixture against AJ Auxerre on September 27th. This offers optimism that he could be available for the crucial UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona on October 1st. Nevertheless, he is still expected to miss the Champions League opener against Atalanta and the high-profile Classique against Olympique de Marseille.
