Conrad Harder is officially set to become AC Milan`s new central striker, following a comprehensive agreement between the clubs and the player for a €27 million transfer, including performance-based add-ons, from Sporting CP.
Notably, a preliminary handshake agreement between the two clubs had already been reached two days prior. However, since then, the Rossoneri`s management has been diligently working to convince the forward of the merits and long-term vision of their sporting project.
This critical period also involved rebuffing a significant approach from French club Stade Rennais, which had been on the verge of securing Harder`s signature just days before AC Milan`s decisive intervention.
Harder Gives Milan His Endorsement
At present, only the final bureaucratic procedures remain. Once these are completed, Harder is expected to travel to Italy to undergo his mandatory medical examination and officially sign his contract.
The prolific striker`s profile was initially championed by intermediary Busardò. Nevertheless, this choice ultimately received the unequivocal approval from head coach Max Allegri as well.
It is worth highlighting that Harder was not the tactician`s initial top preference; Allegri had reportedly harbored hopes of a reunion with his former Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic.
