Reports from Fabrizio Romano indicate that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been unable to finalize a new contract with 26-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. His current agreement with the Parisian club is set to expire at the conclusion of the ongoing season.
Donnarumma`s impending free agency has sparked considerable interest from several prominent European clubs, most notably Premier League powerhouses Manchester United and Manchester City. Both English giants are reportedly keen on acquiring the Italian international`s services, as understood by L`Équipe. Despite the former AC Milan star`s expressed desire to remain in the French capital, the failure to reach a new contract agreement has prompted PSG, recent UEFA Champions League winners, to actively plan for life without him.
In a preemptive move to address Donnarumma`s potential departure, the reigning Ligue 1 champions have reportedly secured a personal terms agreement with 23-year-old Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. The promising French stopper is expected to sign a five-year deal with Les Parisiens should the transfer ultimately materialize.
