Bayer Leverkusen has officially secured the services of AS Monaco`s promising 20-year-old attacking midfielder, Eliesse Ben Seghir, a significant transfer confirmed by both clubs. Reports preceding the official announcement indicated that the German club, widely known as Die Werkself, had reached a substantial €35 million agreement with Les Monégasques for the Moroccan international`s signature. A clear sign of the impending move, Ben Seghir was notably absent from the Monaco squad that narrowly defeated RC Strasbourg this past Sunday.
The highly sought-after Moroccan talent is expected to fill the void left by Amine Adli, who recently departed Bayer Leverkusen for AFC Bournemouth. Ben Seghir has committed his future to the reigning German champions by signing a long-term five-year contract.
Bayer Leverkusen`s Sporting Director, Simon Rolfes, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the new acquisition. He stated:
“Eliesse’s ability to operate effectively both out wide and in central attacking positions, combined with his unpredictable style, makes him a valuable asset to our squad. We eagerly anticipate his contributions for Bayer 04.”
