The practice 50-overs game reduced to 37-overs per side when rain hit Guwahati again when Bangladesh were sailing along nicely. The major performers in the 1st powerplay in this practice match of ICC Men’s CWC23 were Mustafiz from Bangladesh and Jonny Bairstow from England who made 34 off 21 including seven boundaries. 2nd Brook and then Buttler enjoyed the platform set by Bairstow. Summarily, England Sneaked past 90 with the help of 16 boundaries in the first powerplay of 9-overs..

As the 2nd powerplay began, England reached 100 in the very next over. The skipper was brilliant with the bat, made 30 off 15 with strike of 200 in the 11th over of the inning. Taskin Ahmed provided the Break-through and brought Bangladesh back into the warm-up match against England. This time Liam Livingston went after scoring 7 off 11. 

Damage had been done at that stage of the inning with England losing 5 wickets. Moin Ali and Joe Root started building a partnership unlike earlier ones. Bangladesh introduced spin in the 18th over of the inning when England required 60 at a required runrate of 3. Moin’s IPL’s experience came into play and he started smashing the balls hard after getting settled.

Root stayed at the other end while rest of the players came their detour. Moin was unstoppable with the bat and smashed his half century in just 37 deliveries when England were looking in trouble.

England win by 4 wickets sparing 77 balls. And the Batter of the show was only Moin Ali whose sensible inning took England home.
