Eng vs SL Playing 11 Match 25 ICC World Cup 2023

Another crucial match is coming up in the ICC World Cup 2023. England will take on Sri Lanka in the 25th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Both teams are desperately looking for a win. Both teams are stuck at the bottom of the points table due to losing three matches out of their 4. Any team that loses tomorrow will be almost curtains for them. England is placed better compared to Sri Lanka as it looks more powerful on paper. But they have to produce results tomorrow, otherwise, it will be too late for them.

So, the team combination and playing XI will be very important for both teams. Sri Lanka might not change their winning combination even though they have a relatively experienced pro Angelo Mathews as a replacement. If there is a possible change then it might be Mathews.

On the other hand, England has tried too many combinations already and they are still looking for their perfect combination but the team must almost be the same. Rece Topley got injured in the last match so there is a fair chance that Sam Curran might replace him in this all-important match.

England’s Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka

Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Ben Stokes, Gus Atkinson, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali, David Willey,

Sam Curran looks a like-for-like replacement but Moin Ali might be the best replacement. He is a good off-spinner and a destructive batter at the end. He can be used as a term card. He should be included in the match against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Playing 11 vs England

Kusal Mendis (c), Angelo Mathews, Kusal Perera, Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Maheesh Theekshana, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara, Dilshan Madushanka

Angelo Mathews will be the best choice for Sri Lanka to play against England. Sri Lanka is lacking experience and Mathews will provide them with that. So, he might walk into the playing 11 for Sri Lanka in the next match.

As M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is a small ground that even miss hits can go over the boundary line. So, England will have a clear advantage over Sri Lanka but Sri Lanka also has some powerful hitters in the likes of Kusal Mendis and Sadeera, Nissanaka, and Asalanka. It will be a good contest for both teams. Winning is a must for keeping the hopes alive in the tournament. Losing will be almost the end of the tournament for that team.
