Eric Bailly, Former Manchester United Defender, Linked with Serie A Move

Football & Cricket

Eric Bailly, the former center-back for Manchester United and Marseille, is reportedly being offered to Italian Serie A teams Cagliari and Cremonese. This development follows the expiration of the Ivorian defender`s contract with Villarreal at the beginning of July.

Sources such as SportMediaset, relayed by CalcioMercato, indicate that Bailly`s agents have initiated discussions with both Serie A sides. While there is apparent interest from Cagliari and Cremonese, a significant hurdle remains his reported salary expectation of €1 million per season.

Could Experienced Defender Bailly Be a Worthwhile Investment?

Bailly brings extensive experience from both La Liga and the Premier League, alongside 50 international appearances for the Ivory Coast. His career highlights include winning the FA Cup and Europa League with Manchester United during the 2016-17 season, as well as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.

The Ivorian international could undoubtedly bolster the squad of either Cagliari or Cremonese. However, it remains uncertain if an agreement on the financial terms, particularly his salary, can be reached by either party.
