According to reports from L`Équipe, football club Everton`s initial attempt to acquire 20-year-old Lyon winger Malick Fofana was unsuccessful, as their offer was rejected. The Premier League club proposed approximately €36 million, including bonuses, for the Belgian player, but this amount fell short of Lyon`s expectations.
Les Gones are demanding a fixed fee of €40 million for Fofana`s transfer, not including additional add-ons and bonuses. Despite the rejection, discussions between the clubs regarding the potential transfer of the young footballer are ongoing. It should be noted that Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also expressed keen interest in acquiring the Lyon forward this summer.
While negotiations between the Merseyside outfit and Lyon continue, the Belgian winger himself is actively discussing personal terms with the Toffees. Everton aims to finalize the deal swiftly to preempt other Premier League clubs from entering the race to sign the talented former Gent player.
