AS Roma has significantly raised its offer for Verona`s central defender, Daniele Ghilardi. The improved bid, now several million euros above their initial €10 million proposal, is seen as the decisive factor in securing the transfer.
This increased offer was crucial given that Hellas Verona is contractually obligated to pay 50 percent of any future sale proceeds to Fiorentina, as part of a previous agreement. With the revised bid now accepted, the deal is on the cusp of completion, pending only standard bureaucratic procedures, the player`s medical examination, and the official signing of the contract.

Daniele Ghilardi`s Background
Ghilardi, currently 22 years old, initially joined Verona from Fiorentina on a loan deal in January 2022. Verona then exercised their option to make the move permanent in July of the same year, acquiring him for €380,000, with the crucial stipulation of a 50% sell-on clause for Fiorentina.
In the 2024-25 season, the young defender made 24 appearances for the Gialloblu. Prior to his significant role with Verona, he spent his first two seasons under contract with the club out on loan, gaining experience with Mantova and Sampdoria.
On the international stage, Ghilardi has represented the Italian U21 national team, the `Azzurrini`, on 16 occasions, scoring one goal during his appearances.
