With their current goalkeeper, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, anticipated to join Napoli, Torino Football Club is actively exploring options for a new custodian. Among the key targets on their radar are Wladimiro Falcone from Lecce and Franco Israel of Sporting CP.
Torino shifts focus after Caprile option cools
Initially, Elia Caprile of Cagliari, who previously played for Napoli, was considered a prime candidate for Torino. However, Cagliari recently finalized his loan move, securing him permanently for €8 million. They are now reportedly demanding at least double that amount for a summer transfer, making the deal significantly less appealing for Torino.
New faces emerge in Torino`s goalkeeper search
Beyond Falcone from Lecce, an exclusive new name has surfaced in recent discussions: Sporting CP`s goalkeeper, Franco Israel. His contract with the Portuguese club is set to expire in June 2027.
Notably, Israel has a history with Juventus, having spent four years in their youth academy from 2018 to 2022. During his time there, he made 59 appearances for the Juventus U23 squad and 27 for their U19 team. The Uruguayan international joined Sporting CP in 2022 for approximately €700,000 and has since celebrated winning the Portuguese league title twice with the club.
